You Can Pull Off the Perfect Beach Wedding

A beach wedding could be just what the 'preacher' ordered

Thursday, July 27, 2017

A beach wedding is just about as romantic as you can get, don't you think? Your beach wedding can simply be a traditional affair that happens to be held at the nearest beach, or it can be a beach wedding with a completely nautical theme. Or your beach wedding can be as unique as you are, in theme AND style!

Make Time to Plan

Having a beach wedding means celebrating your special day outdoors, perhaps with a tropical offshore breeze gently blowing, or a distant lighthouse providing the 'ambience', and maybe even with warm white sand between your toes. Yes, that's right, some brides at beach weddings choose to go barefoot! (Sure makes things easier on the shoe budget, doesn't it?)

In any case, if you and your partner love the beach, live near the beach, make a living from or near the beach - or just love the idea of a beach wedding - you should definitely consider it.

Some of the planning for a beach wedding may be a little more complicated than a traditional ceremony, but worth doing. For example, if you have friends or family with special needs - allergies, for instance, or a need to be in a wheelchair - you'll have to take that into consideration.

Beach Wedding Supplies

Some of your suppliers may also have a surcharge or a higher fee to attend a beach wedding, simply because a beach wedding is more expensive or more complicated for them, too.

For example, a caterer might have to consider ways to keep sand grains from blowing into the food - or the DJ might have to have bigger speakers to make sure the sound will carry.

Will your beach wedding use the natural materials that are already present on the beach - shells, grasses and sea glass, for example - or will you bring purchased decorating materials with you? Will you need extra lighting, if you're still there at dusk? Does someone need to be appointed to watch that the guests' children don't wander off in search of sea stars?

As long as you give yourself lots of extra lead time to plan the details, your beach wedding could be 'just what the preacher ordered!'
